Msfs 2020 Upcoming Aircraft

Msfs 2020 Upcoming Aircraft - The SR22 is among bestsellers in modern general aviation, as a low-wing, single-engine aircraft, which has also proven highly versatile. The plane also packs standout features, namely its distinct side yoke stick controls, and an integrated parachute that guarantees to help you touch down safely.

That diversity also means different handling and performance, with multiple methods of input within each class. While the best yokes for Microsoft Flight Simulator will aid your experience in the Cessna family, airliners like the Airbus A320neo are suited to joysticks in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Those on Xbox consoles will have fewer options for peripherals, although all handle well on a controller.

Designed for hauling passengers back-and-forth, Diamond Aircraft frames its DA62 the "ultimate" flying machine. It earns that title as a twin-engine light craft designed with speed, fuel efficiency, and luxury at heart. Its spacious design also fits two pilots up front, with journey enhanced through Garmin G1000 Nxi avionics onboard.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Will Get Paid Dlc Expansions — First Including Helicopters

VR first hits Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 in a somewhat limited form, initially tied to one headset according to the company. The HP Reverb G2 will be the only compatible headset for testing, birthed through a collaboration between Microsoft and Valve, and scheduled to release later in 2020. While VR will arrive later this year, a later update will expand compatibility to more headsets.

We hope this list is useful, together with our list of aircraft in development, so that you know what’s available and what’s coming for MSFS. There’s a detailed changelog at the bottom of this post, which is updated as of February 8, 2023.

Microsoft Flight Simulator marks an unparalleled leap in virtual flight, with cloud-powered detail across a near-to-scale recreation of the entire Earth. The newest entry has proven one of the most authentic simulations of all time, but it wouldn't be complete without a large list of aircraft to go with it.

The CTLS light-sport aircraft cuts back its weight with a composite construction that heavily leverages carbon fiber, with a streamlined silhouette to match. The CTLS is among the leaders in its class for performance and fuel efficiency, with this model improving the fuel system, horizontal stabilizer, and other aspects of aerodynamics.

The result of a secret six-year project from Washington-based Cub Crafters, the XCub brings streamlined design and high performance. It's a strut-braced high-wing light aircraft, melding steel tubing, and carbon fiber to stay agile in the skies.

Daher TBM 930 comes as one of the latest revisions to the once-SOCATA branded light aircraft line, known as a speedy single-engine turboprop for business and utility. The 900-series refined its design, now faster and more efficient, while improving its aluminum and steel assembly with revised aerodynamics. The standout of the 930 comes with its digital avionics, credited to the Garmin's G3000 touchscreen system.

To that end, Microsoft launches with 30 planes from launch, spanning a variety of classes, each with unique identities. However, some of them are split across both the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions, which come in far more expensive than the base version. With those editions priced at $90, and $120, respectively, prepare your wallet for the full experience.

Microsoft has also discussed further planned content for Microsoft Flight Simulator beyond launch, and by extension, likely some of the first title updates to see over the months ahead. And based on its previously outlined roadmap guidelines, these will likely remain free by building on its simulation depth.

The Cessna Citation Longitude serves up a premium business jet, touting leading comfort and low noise, for up to 12 passengers. It's designed with range and efficiency in mind, tying up navigation and communication in the cutting-edge Garmin G5000 flight deck.

The 172 also adapts to the extreme with dedicated skis attached to the stock landing gear. These snow-readied skis are ideal for colder climates when you can't always rely on a hard runway at the destination.

Take the 172 to the sea with floats, with retractable landing gear also available, adaptive to water and hard-surface runways. This aircraft has flight control systems, navigation, and other staples of the Garmin G1000 model, providing a digital upgrade over traditional instruments.

The Savage Cub is noticeable from afar with its distinct high-wing, braced design and yellow exterior. It takes forward the identity of the Piper Cub, uniquely suited for bush flying with the addition of those tundra tires for landing on rough terrain.

It's one of the best-selling airliners for a reason, propelling its glass controls and digital fly-by-wire flight control system into the mainstream, and swapping the traditional yoke for the side stick. The A320neo is one of three out-of-box airliners in Microsoft Flight Simulator, accompanied by long-range, widebody alternative, Boeing's 787-10 Dreamliner.

While the same single-engine, light aircraft from the exterior, the DA40-TDI packs a whole different beast inside. The TDI variant features a Thielert "Centurion" diesel engine over the newest JET A-1 fuel-reliant Austro Engine AE 300. That comes with various performance differences, including a drop in horsepower, and constant speed propeller.

This narrow-body, twin-engine airliner joined the commercial fleet last decade, now among the top for short and medium-haul routes. The A320 pushed the Airbus family into the digital age, going head to head with the Boeing 737.

But Microsoft isn't stopping with its August 18 debut, now talking what's next for its latest Flight Simulator. The developer positions the title as an "ever-changing, ever-evolving platform," discussing its first content roadmap, split across both regular free updates, offset with the odd paid downloadable content (DLC) expansion. Here's what to look out for beyond take-off.

The first DLC for Microsoft Flight Simulator plans to introduce helicopters, expanding its simulation with a new class of transport. The team has explored helicopter models, set to provide a framework for the vastly different systems and aerodynamics, over the existing plane roster. It expects the paid DLC to include a selection of helicopters, helipads, playable missions, and other luxuries beyond the raw implementation.

The SOLO103 is the first paid aircraft added to Microsoft Flight Simulator post-launch direct from developer Asobo Studio. This ultralight comes with an open cockpit primed for sightseeing, with great attention to detail mirroring planes from the base game. It's available via the in-game Marketplace, priced at $10, unlocking the aircraft and nine liveries out of the box.

This will be a regularly updated list, and every suggestion or feedback from our readers will be considered. While we follow closely what is going on across the whole spectrum of the MSFS community, there will always be something that we didn’t catch, so do share your findings! If you think there’s something missing, feel free to let us know in the comments below.

The list of aircraft currently available for Microsoft Flight Simulator continues to grow, with new additions coming seemingly every week. Since it’s getting hard for simmers to keep track, we figured a list of currently available aircraft could be quite useful, grouped by aircraft type. So here it is!

August 25Th, 2022 Development Update - Microsoft Flight Simulator

Travel wherever and whenever with the ICON A5, the sole amphibious plane, included for all in Flight Simulator 2020. This high-wing monoplane boasts unparalleled versatility, with a lightweight, carbon fiber frame that touches down on both land and sea. It's compact and fits just on extra passenger, but provides all you need for sea-bound adventures.

Microsoft Flight Simulator's fifth sim update introduced a new XCub variant with floats, ideal for tackling land and sea. While this aircraft remains as agile as ever, you now don't need to worry about touching down on a runway.

The same Skyhawk on the surface, this 172 revision changes up the inside in one significant way. The Garmin G1000-equipped variant leaves it a little more classy, with its avionics bringing flight control systems, navigation, and other fundamental operations into the digital age.

The DV20 Katana was inspired by the HK36 motor glider family, which results in its low-wing design, super lightweight build, and distinctive T-tailed rear. It comes in an elegant frame constructed from glass and carbon fiber reinforced plastic, pitched as a sporty light aircraft for personal use and training.

Microsoft offsets world updates with its simulation changes, aiming to enrich moment-to-moment aviation instead. That includes new features and improvements, still to be announced, focused on the flight mechanics. The list of aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator will also undergo expansion with time.

The 330LT rules the aerobatic space as a two-seater monoplane that's both zippy and nimble. It packs a single AEIO-580 engine, powering a design that's capable of even the hardest stunts. It's a bullet in the sky, with this model adding a full electronic flight instrument system, but cutting back the roll rate over previous iterations.

Microsoft Flight Simulator: Game Of The Year Edition Available Today - Xbox Wire

Microsoft Flight Simulator launches with 20 aircraft available to all players, from single-engine light aircraft to the world's prominent passenger jets. The base game ships with an extensive initial roster, differing in aircraft type and hailing from varying manufacturers.

Shared cockpit functionality is planned for Flight Simulator 2020 in a future update, allowing multiplayer pilots to control a single aircraft within one environment. For a title that thrives on authenticity, integration would fully support multi-crew aircraft for multiplayer.

While out of production for over 30 years, the Cessna 152 is still used everywhere, and an undeniable classic. This two-seat star is accessible and easy to get started, especially for flight training and general personal use. Dual controls often come standard, primed for getting started in the skies, and even used for virtual lessons included with Microsoft Flight Simulator.
